lesson closure-time 10
The teacher will pose one last question to students, is a similar event possible in present day? Students will turn in an exit slip explaining their answer. I assume that most students will say that an event similar to the Holocaust would not be possible in 2016. I will close the lesson by presenting students with more modern day forms of genocide such as Darfur in the 1990’s.
assessments
Formative: Students will be asked critical thinking questions throughout the lecture and we will discuss them in class. Students will also be writing their answers to question in their guided notes so that all students are participating and not only those students who choose to share.
Summative: The exit slip will serve as a final assessment where students will predict if genocide can occur in present day societies. Students will use the characteristics of genocide that were discussed during lecture to support their stance.
